On Saturday, December 8th, Washington
Township Parks & Recreation held it's
Annual "Breakfast with Santa" event at the new and beautiful
Cucinella School,
located on Naughright Road in Long Valley.
The weather cooperated
and Santa's fans
arrived with smiles of exuberance. There were rave revues from
the participants, who
experienced a morning of fun, food, and friendship. The Cucinella
School is the perfect venue for
this event, providing a spacious and clean cafeteria.
The breakfast
was facilitated by the professional
and friendly services of Marion Chalemin and Frank Henderson.
With four sessions between
9:00 AM and Noon, The Recreation Department and Friends were
able to feed and entertain between 500 and 600 children and
adults.
Thanks goes again to Mike Looney, owner
of Mangel's Homemade Candy Shop located in Chester for his
continued support of the Township and especially for his close
ties with Santa.
Thanks also is extended to Girl Scout Troops
283, 667, 311, 42, and 115 for their support as Santa's Helpers,
Tattoo Artists,
Photo Framers, Schmoozers, and clean-up.
The West Morris Central
Photography Club, represented by
Chelsea Volyn, Samantha Carey, and Katie McAleer, performed a
magnificent and remarkable service,
providing on the spot professional photos with Santa.
Additionally, ten local teens woke
up early on
their day off to inflate balloons, decorate tables, clean tables/trays/pots/pans,
and schmooze. The kitchen
had great representation from our own Washington Township Recreation
Committee. Registration was beautifully handled
by members of the Washington Township Municipal Alliance.
Thanks to participants and volunteers for
a great day and we look forward to seeing you next year. |
