September 19, 2007 Parking Lot to Facilitate Parking Washington Township's Department of Public Works completed paving for a satellite parking lot at Rock Spring Park in time for use during football season. The parking lot, located to the East of the WT Communications Building, is accessible from East Springtown Road. A planned access road to the parking lot off Schooley's Mountain Road was not possible as a result of Highlands regulations. All the grading and site prep work was completed by the DPW and Parks and Recreation employees. In an environmentally green cost saving practice, the base of the parking lot is composed of recycled asphalt from other Township construction projects. The parking lot, when fully completed with parking lines and perimeter landscaping, will provide parking for 40 vehicles. |
