H1N1 UPDATE (9/14/09)

Washington Township expects to distribute H1N1 vaccinations later this fall.

Individuals at highest risk for the disease will be given first priority to receive the vaccinations. Eligible individuals should be able to receive the vaccinations at local clinics or from their health care provider when the vaccine is released by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Vaccines should be available in late October or early November, 2009. Please continue to check this site for further information regarding vaccination clinic dates, locations, and times as this information becomes available.

Individuals in the following priority groups may consider this voluntary vaccination:

      • Pregnant women
      • Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age
      • Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel
      • All people from 6 months through 24 years of age
      • Persons aged 25 through 64 years who have health conditions associated with high risk of medical complications from influenza

What you can do today to stay healthy and help prevent the spread of the flu:

      • Wash your hands frequently
      • Cover coughs and sneezes
      • Stay home when you are sick
