Fosterfields
Trip
August 11th
Washington
Township Seniors are on the move, again, this time they will be
visiting Fosterfields
Living Historical Farm on August 11th.
Plan to join others as they experience this, circa 1854, Gothic
Revival farm and its residence called the Willows. This complete
working farm has animals, crops, period furnishings and machinery
from the turn of the 20th century.
The Willows was designed for the family of Paul Revere’s grandson,
Joseph Warren Revere, one of the earlier owners. As you visit you
may be asked to help with farm chores, such as butter churning and
corn cracking.
At this restored 1920’s farmhouse you learn from a tour guided
by docents the important role of the farm foreman and his family.
This charming farm has the distinction of being New Jersey’s first
Living Historical Farm.
Washington Township Parks & Recreation Department will provide
transportation for the first 21 folks to register. The admission
fee is $8 and there is a $5.00 transportation fee for non-residents.
Wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Please
call Joe Youngman at 908.852.1238 to register.
Please bring your $8.00 (cash) the day of
the trip and give it to the trip leader, Joe Youngman. All non-residents
should make out their $5.00 transportation check to Washington Township
Parks & Recreation and send it to Washington Township P &
R, 54 Rock Rd., Long Valley, NJ 07840 before August 6th.
