at the Long Valley Dog Park

 The Long Valley Dog Park Volunteer Committee is proud to announce Opening Day at the Dog Park! We truly appreciate the incredible support and assistance we've received from you all and hope that you will join us to celebrate our opening.
To
save on parking, please consider meeting at the Brew Pub and
doggie pooling over to the Park. Please let us know, we will
gladly make arrangements.

The Grand Opening and Registration
Day at the Long Valley Dog Park is scheduled for September
29, 2007 at 9:00 AM. Volunteers will be on hand
and special treats will be available from 9:00 AM to 1PM.
The Long Valley Dog Park is located on Fairmount Road. At 10:00 AM, Peter
Wayne Resotka of the Long Valley Dog Park Committee will host
a short ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the
long planned community dog park.
All dog lovers, and their
dogs, are invited to join members of the dog park committee,
members of the Washington Township Committee, and other members
of the community who donated their time, energy, money and
materials in helping to complete the park.
Alison Deeb, Co-Founder & President
of MARDOG (Morris Area Responsible Dog Owners Group) will be
on hand to welcome the park into a growing network of Morris
County dog parks. Ms. Deeb will highlight the importance of
off-leash recreation for dogs and discuss proper dog park etiquette.
The Long Valley Dog Park is a
subscription only dog park and is open to all independent of
residence. There is a $10 yearly fee for Washington Township
residents and a $15 yearly fee for all others. The subscription
fee is designed to ensure the proper operation of
the dog park.
Registration forms will be available
at the park on opening day and thereafter, at the Washington
Township Municipal Building, located at 43 Schooley's Mountain
Road.
Originally
conceived more than two years ago, the Long Valley Dog Park
has been designed and built as a premier dog park. The Long
Valley Dog Park is a wonderful new amenity for the Washington
Township community. Throughout the year, events at the park
will include:
- dog training and agility programs
- dog health awareness and screenings
- safe-home education for dog owners
- pet adoption days.
Operational hours for the park
are 8:00 AM until dusk.
On opening day there will be
doggie gift bags filled with premium biscuits, dog food samples
and dog-related information. Additionally, here will be giveaways
and raffles for dogs and their owners, including KONG toys
and free subscriptions to a variety of dog magazines.
All well behaved dogs are invited to romp and play and celebrate.
After opening
day, all dogs must be registered to use the park. As a subscription
only dog park, registration helps assure the health and safety
of the dogs, and people, who use the park.
Everyone is invited to check
out the dog park ahead of time, but NO
DOGS ARE ALLOWED at the park until opening day!
