2006 RECREATION PRESS RELEASE

Our “Mad Science Camp” will be held August 7 through August 11 with two sessions. Mornings will be for grades K - 2 and afternoons for 3rd - 6th graders who will all be both educated and entertained. The program will be conducted by professionals and the class curriculum will be different each day of the week. These classes are limited to 25 children per session.

Radio Controlled airplanes and helicopters have become an annual highlight of our summer activities. The local participants enjoy a fun filled and unique experience each year. We are very fortunate and appreciative to Ground Controlled Aircraft, a local radio controlled airplane club that host’s and sponsor’s this August 19th event (rain date August 26th). GCA, a local club from Mansfield Township presents a day of learning to fly on a computerized simulator, then experiencing your new found talent on the field with help from an instructor and finally professional instructions on how to build a model airplane from sticks and paper. Join the club and make it a family hobby. Fun for kids of all ages.

On Friday, June 23rd (rain date June 24th), following the 8th grade graduation ceremony at LVMS, there will be the Second Annual 8th Grade Graduation Party, at Rock Spring Park. Last year the kids and parents had a blast with games, food, entertainment and the spectacular grand finale of a “wet down” on the football field, conducted by our local volunteer fire department.

Always searching for a new and fun experience, we are very fortunate to have booked a World Champion Trick Shot pool player, Bill “Mynah Bird” Meima for our “Trick Shot Extravaganza” event, scheduled for June 24th, 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, at the Washington Township Senior Center. Seating is limited, so pre-registration is required.
