COMMUNITY THEATER MAKES DEBUT IN LONG VALLEY!
Valley-Mountain Angels, Inc is ‘Breaking Legs’ This Spring;
Local Residents Finally Get a Shot On-Stage With Their Own Theater Group
For the 17 years she and her family have lived in Long Valley, Linda V. Celiano has been involved in community theater. From set design to costumes, directing to acting, advertising and ticket sales; there aren’t many roles Linda hasn’t filled.
While the friendships made were lasting and the talent witnessed, inspiring; this local resident couldn’t help but wonder why her passion for theater couldn’t be fostered within her own beautiful town. Hence, the founding of Valley-Mountain Angels, Inc. this spring.
VMA promises to not only enrich and entertain its home town community, but to benefit a variety of charitable organizations as well. “I love our town and have met some wonderful people here,” states VMA Founder and Board President, Linda V. Celiano. “As such, I look forward to our membership being comprised of both caring, socially concerned residents and talented individuals with an interest in theater. We’re thrilled to give Long Valley families the opportunity to be involved on-stage or behind the scenes!”
As a non-profit group, VMA has committed to designating a portion of their proceeds to very specifically selected charities – ones that have touched the lives of Long Valley residents themselves. A portion of the proceeds from this spring’s production will be donated to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, Inc.
Founded in 1967, CCFA’s mission is to cure and prevent Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis through research, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support. These painful, chronic illnesses affect approximately 1.4 million Americans, including one of ‘Breaking Legs’ very own leading cast members, a Long Valley resident herself.
The group’s debut performance, ‘Breaking Legs’ by , is an adult-themed comedy set in an Italian restaurant. Audiences are sure to get a kick out of this cast’s portrayal of…“family” values!
The production will be on stage at Cucinella Elementary School (470 Naughright Rd. in Long Valley) on May 11th & 12th, May 18th & 19th at 7pm, with a matinee performance on Sunday, May 13th at 3pm.
