At the August 3, 1908 meeting of the Washington Township Committee, the following resolution was made.

Moved and carried that the Franchise of the Kennedy Electric Light Co. be amended so as to include three lights placed on three of the following points. One at the crossroads of the Lutheran parsonage on the street in front of the Lutheran Church , and one at the corner by Lyman Kice’s store for the privilege of extending the electric light lines through the village of German Valley. It is understood that this amendment is to apply to the Township of Washington and the Kennedy Electric Light Company as long as this Electric Light Company shall be in operation.
