Over 120 Washington Township and area
seniors wearing holiday garb were in party mode on Friday,
December 7, 2007 at 11AM at St. Mark’s Church.
The Washington Township
Department of Parks and Recreation sponsored the event in
cooperation with St. Mark’s Church. This annual celebration reflected the spirit of the season from gifts crafted by the Long Valley Girl Scouts and their leaders; service provided by the Long Valley Junior Women’s
Club; cards made by students attending Flocktown and Kossmann
Schools; along with evergreen centerpieces assembled by
the Garden Club of Long Valley, with the aid of local volunteers.
Entering guests were greeted by the harmonious strains of
holiday music sung by the Hunterdon Harmonizers. Additional
entertainment included performances by students from the Long
Valley Middle School Chorus and Long Valley Middle School Ensemble,
performing holiday selections led by teachers, Tara Postigo
and Linda Quinn.
Our catered menu included Chicken Franchise, Spanakopita,
Roast Beef with mashed potatoes, assorted greens, seasonal
fruit with gourmet double chocolate brownies concluding the
cuisine.
Capping the event, Santa arrived delighting everyone while
presenting gifts crafted by the Girl Scouts
